Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application.
Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Wren is the last of her litter still looking for her forever home. She is an Australian Cattle Dog/Labrador/Who-Knows-What pup, born 6/1/25. Wren is the largest from her litter so we expect she may top off at around 60 pounds full grown (though, of course, with mixed breeds we cannot guarantee anything - if she has some hidden chihuahua or Great Dane in the mix somewhere, your size may vary, HA). Since we KNOW she has a good dose of heeler from the mom (who has been spayed and returned to her family under our Stop the Cycle program), it's safe to assume she will be an active dog who will enjoy having an active family. There is a HUGE benefit to adopting the last pup from a litter - namely, once all her siblings went home on 8/30, Wren was placed into a foster home, where she has already learned about crate training, potty training, and inter-species relations with cats and chickens! All this in just a week - she is a smart doggo for sure. Her foster mom reports that Wren (who they call Harley because they already have a pup named Rayne and didn't want the confusion) sleeps through the night in her crate, and always whines at the door when needing to go out. She is a bit of a velcro pup, wanting to follow her person everywhere, and can be a little shy about meeting new people, animals, and situations - though is gaining in confidence every day. She is good friends with big pup Rayne, and is going to make a wonderful companion for the lucky adopter who wants a right-hand-dog in their life. Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet, and will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Wren is a suggested minimum of $175 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
