Mazi 2003
7 years old · Adoptable · $75 or Senior for Senior
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application. Mazi is a 7 year old Great Pyrenees (DOB 7-1-23) who was surrendered to Forget Me Not Shelter after her owners moved away and could no longer care for her. She is just shy of 100 lbs and is fondly known as the mother hen at the shelter. Like most Great Pyrenees, Mazi has a calm, gentle temperament and likes to spend her days keeping watch. Her favorite spot is to curl up and cool off in the one and only hole she has dug where can see all the happenings at the shelter and make sure all visitors pay the Mazi toll. A pat on the head or a treat usually do the trick. For the most part she is a quiet girl but will alert staff with a stern bark when a stranger approaches the fence or she sees a deer on the hillside. Mazi does well with children, cats and other dogs. She will entertain puppies with gentle play until she’s ready to retreat for a nap when she’s all tuckered out. There are multiple playgroups for the dogs and when Mazi feels they are playing too rough she will vocalize to them they need to play nice with a gruff mom warning to which they usually listen. Though she has lived outside most of her life, in her old age Mazi prefers sleeping inside at night and is fully house trained. She has seen a groomer during her stay at the shelter and is regularly brushed to help with shedding. She is a very sweet girl who comes to her name when called; she would do well in a home preferably with a fenced property since she may tend to wander like Great Pyrenees often do. Mazi would be a great addition to a home where she can have the freedom to go on a walk about and lounge on the porch to soak up the sun (and love) alongside her family. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Mazi is a suggested minimum of $75 or Senior for Senior (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.
