Baked 1841
1 year old · Adopted
Considering adopting? The first step is to do the application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Baked is the last remaining pup from our Potatoes Litter, born 5/23/23. Baked's mom is a German Shepherd mix, and her dad could be just about anyone... there is definite terrier/wire-haired influence in a few of her littermates, though we don't see it in Baked. She has been growing up in a loving foster home (hurray for fosters!!) and is great with all sorts of people and dogs. She has not been tested with cats, but foster mom Deb believes she would be fine with both cats and kids. As a side note, Baked is also a mouse-hunter! Unfortunately, she just plays with them, so any dispatch will be up to you (or your cat). Baked loves food and treats, can initially be a little shy with strangers but warms up quickly (especially if they have the aforementioned food and treats). Loves ear rubs, neck scratches and being told how pretty she is. She can be a little bossy, pushing her way in for the most attention. She plays with squeeky toys, kong toys and would love to crawl onto your lap on her terms. She is definitely a couch dog. She is housetrained (but requires vigilance, as her "cue" is simply to go to the door and wait for you to notice). Baked is also crate trained, and sleeps through the night (currently, roughly 10:30 - 7:00), then wants to go right outside and WILL give a bark to let you know it's time to wake up. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Baked is a suggested minimum of SPONSORED (pay what you like) (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
Please do not call the shelter, do the application first.
