Tucker, looking ahead to his 8th birthday in 2023, came to Forget Me Not Shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. This friendly 80-pound boy has a pretty typical German Shepherd personality. He is not big on playing fetch but loves to go on walks and explore with his human sidekick.

Tucker is a bit selective when it comes to his furry friends but has played well with most of the female dogs he has been introduced to. His ideal home would be one where he could be the only dog and soak in all the attention from his family. He has not been formally introduced to cats here and may see them as a toy more than a friend judging by the curiosity he shows, so only the bravest cats should invite Tucker home!

This well-mannered boy caught on quickly to his routine here at the shelter. He will be the first to let everyone know when we have a visitor with a few warning barks. Tucker is a leash-puller and likes to get where he’s going, which is usually right back to his kennel where his bed and treats are. A little time with an Easy Leader or a front-clip harness and daily leash training should turn him into a pleasure to walk on leash. When off leash, he sticks close to his people, unless there is a SQUIRREL or other tempting animated squeaky toy.

While he does enjoy playing outside, this big boy prefers to hangout inside where the people are. He knows “sit” and will gratefully and softly retrieve his treat from you after doing so. He takes Cosequin daily to help keep his senior joints in strolling condition, and currently has no restrictions for stairs (though as he continues to age, he may hope for single-level living).

Tucker is a very sweet boy with lots of love and kisses to share with his forever home and can’t wait to be the happy addition you’ve been looking for!

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Tucker is a suggested minimum of $75 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
