Flint 1662

12 months old · Adopted

Introducing the Fire Pups! These adorable babies were born 5/10/2022 and arrived as a Stop the Cycle litter (we pay to spay the mom dog in return for allowing us to rehome the pups).

Mama is a Bluetick Coonhound, so we can be confident there is about 50% HOUND in these floppy-eared beauties. Dad is an unusual mixed breed, some of his known genes are Australian Shepherd and Great Dane! The pups look hound for sure, and we find they are already becoming a little talkative.

The four pups in this group are:

FLAME - male, biggest, tricolor with fully speckled front legs, energetic and sassy

EMBER - female, tricolor with black on top half of front legs, most cuddly of the group

FLINT - male, smallest, black and grey speckles (no brown), in between cuddly and energetic

TINDER - female, tricolor with solid brown on her left front leg, another energetic and spirited pup

We recommend securely fenced yards for hounds; if you are unfamiliar with hound traits, please read up on them to be sure the breed is right for you: https://www.wisdompanel.com/en-us/dog-breeds/blue-tick-coonhound

Keep in mind, even if you are standing RIGHT NEXT TO your hound pup, if they smell something they want to track, they are off like a shot and cannot easily be distracted from their trail. It could be a squirrel, it could be a hotdog grilling 3 blocks away, their nose is their superpower and cannot be denied.

Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet, and will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty!

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Flint is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
