HOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application.
Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Sweet Brownie is a gentle ten-year-old soul who beautifully proves that a heart full of love only grows more precious with age. This 90-pound girl has transitioned into her golden years with grace, offering a quiet and comforting presence to anyone she meets. While her eyesight and hearing are no longer sharp, she navigates her world through a remarkably keen sense of smell and the soft touch of a friendly hand. She doesn't need to see you to know where the affection is, and she will happily lean into your legs with a slow, steady wag to show her appreciation. Following the removal of several mammary tumors, one of which showed evidence of malignant osteosarcoma, Brownie is looking for a special hospice foster home rather than undergoing further surgeries. As her hospice family, you would provide the love and stability she deserves to fulfill her retirement bucket list, while Forget Me Not remains her legal owner to cover all necessary medical expenses for the rest of her life. Life with Brownie is defined by simple, beautiful moments like sun-drenched naps on soft rugs and slow, predictable strolls around the block. Because she relies so heavily on her remaining senses, Brownie requires a calm, stable, and single-story environment without significant stairs so she can safely and confidently map out her surroundings. She is a low-energy, soulful companion who prefers to be the only pet in the home, as she does not get along with other dogs or cats. Prospective fosters should also consider her size, ensuring they have the ability or assistance to lift her into a vehicle if needed. For the right family, Brownie offers a boundless capacity for companionship and an immense amount of quiet, steady devotion. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Brownie is a suggested minimum of HOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
