Introducing BB

This sweet 3-year-old mixed-breed girl has the beautiful, soulful look of a Bluetick Coonhound blend. She weighs about 45 pounds (with a pound or two to spare), is fully housetrained, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She’s also shown polite curiosity toward cats she’s met through screened catios, so with slow, thoughtful introductions, she may do well with a feline friend.

BB came from a home with far too many dogs, so now she’s making up for lost time as a full-on love sponge. She wants to be as close as possible to her people - sometimes literally, by gently hopping up to say hello. It’s her only real “bad habit,” and one that older kids and adults can easily redirect (very small children may get tipped over, though she means well!).

When you first take her out to play, as you’ll see in her video, BB is enthusiastic and happy to romp, chase a ball, and enjoy a short burst of fun. But don’t be fooled; she’s also a certified couch potato. After 10–15 minutes of play, she’s ready to curl up beside you and settle in for a good cuddle or a football-watching session. Even by the end of her video, you can see her relaxing into snuggle mode.

BB is an easygoing, adaptable companion who should integrate quickly into a wide variety of homes, whether solo or with a friendly dog buddy or two. She won’t ask for marathon runs or high-octane exercise. A few games of fetch, a daily sniff-walk, or even just exploring the backyard will keep her content. Most of all, she loves being part of the pack (human, canine, or both) and would be thrilled to join you on family outings and adventures.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, low-maintenance companion with a perfect mix of playfulness and cuddles, BB might be your girl. She’s ready to soak up all the love you have to give.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for BB is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
