Lolo’s journey hasn’t been easy. This 56-pound girl, approximately 3 years old, arrived at Forget Me Not after being found abandoned with her only surviving puppy, Cascade (also available for adoption). Malnourished and unable to nurse, Lolo watched as her baby went into bottle-feeding foster care while she focused on healing and regaining her strength. And what a transformation it’s been.

Now healthy and thriving, Lolo has blossomed into one of the sweetest, most gentle souls we’ve had the joy of knowing. She’s so calm and kind with cats that she’s earned the title of official cat tester here at the shelter – and she wears it proudly. Lolo adores people and greets everyone with a wagging tail and an open heart. She’s a bit choosy with her canine companions and seems to prefer male dogs, but she has no shortage of love to give.

As for her breed? Your guess is as good as ours! She may have some shepherd or Black Mouth Cur in her, but mostly, she’s 100% Good Dog. (And if you do a DNA test, we’d love to hear the results!)

Lolo walks beautifully on a leash, is fully housetrained, and has a playful side that’ll melt your heart. Her favorite trick? Sneaking into the toy room when staff aren’t looking so she can pick out her own prize. Smart girl!

Like many dogs who’ve had to survive on their own, Lolo does have a fondness for raiding the trash. A trash can with a locking lid or child-proof cabinets will solve that little quirk easily.

Lolo has come so far and is now ready for the next chapter – one where she’s safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of her days. Could you be the one she’s been waiting for?

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Lolo is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
