Emu C2415

2 years old  ·  Adoptable  ·  $50

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application. Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

Meet Emu, a stunning and sensitive three-year-old male who is searching for a quiet, patient home where he can finally feel safe. Emu was originally adopted from Forget Me Not after a long stay as a shy guy, but he recently found himself back at the shelter through no fault of his own. Needless to say, Emu is not amused by this turn of events and is eager to find a true forever home as soon as possible.

Because he is a sensitive soul, Emu starts off quite shy, especially around new people. He prefers a low-key environment where he can initially find a warm, high-up hiding spot to decompress and watch the world go by from a sunny window perch. While he might seem like a distant connoisseur of quiet companionship at first, don't let his timid nature fool you. Once Emu feels secure and gets comfortable with his humans, he transforms into the biggest snuggle bug in the world.

He isn't much for toys, but he has a major soft spot for Churu treats, which are the perfect way to build trust and capture his heart. Emu gets along well with other cats, but he specifically requests a home with no dogs or loud little humans to ensure his environment stays peaceful. If you have a calm household and the patience to let a shy cat bloom, Emu is ready to be your rewarding, window-gazing best friend.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Emu is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
