Introducing Joplin, a shorthaired tabico (calico patterned tabby) and white girl, born about 4/30/25, who arrived as a stray. Joplin has been cuddly and playful during her time at the shelter. She went out for a trial adoption, where something just didn't work for her and she spent 2 weeks hiding before being returned.

Since coming back, our cuddly, playful girl is back to herself. She may just be a particularly sensitive kitty who needs a full 30-day adjustment period before feeling comfortable in her new home. Please give her the chance to blossom, and you'll have a magnificent companion for life.

She is sharing her room with Romaine, Colby, Brie, Camembert, and Coal, so it will be easy to mix-and-match kittens into any pair you want, should you decide you'd like two!

Joplin has fabulous pouncing and leaping skills and looks forward to eradicating any and every wand toy infesting your household.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Joplin is a suggested minimum of $60 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
