Milo 1554

Milo is a delightful easy-keeper good old boy, who will turn 11 in 2022. He ended up at the shelter when he decided he no longer wanted the "outside dog" lifestyle, and would prefer to spend his time inside, and in the company of human companions as much as possible. This led to him continually heading off to the neighbors' home, where a good old boy was NOT what they wanted. Milo's people have graciously allowed us to find him a new home where he can be an inside doggo and enjoy an easy retirement.

Milo is housetrained, good with other dogs, and would love to go with you on all your not-too-strenuous adventures. He may not be up to hiking Mount Rainier with you, but he would happily go with you to the corner store or out for a puppiccino. His ideal retirement home will include warm winter nights by the wood stove (or the heating vent), lots of "who's a good dog? YOU are" comments, a comfy bed, and lots of time to enjoy his new person or family.

Like all dogs in our Sammi Fund for Seniors program, Milo will be receiving a full geriatric blood panel, physical exam, and dental evaluation. If any issues are found, we will take care of those that need fixing! He appears to be quite healthy, has a small lump that is likely to be a typical "old dog" fatty tumor on his side, and his teeth don't look bad at all - unusual in our experience with senior dogs!

He came to us a little bit overweight at 97 pounds, but will gradually slim down with gentle daily walks and a quality diet. Milo is currently in a foster home, and we'd be happy to connect applicants to his foster parent for all your questions to be answered.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted), or Senior for Senior - adopters over 65 may name their own adoption fee. All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our transport expenses, that would be great!
