Ruskin 1464

Ruskin is 76lbs of pure joy. This beautiful male German Shepherd is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. We estimate his date of birth to be 11/1/2017. It's unclear how Ruskin became homeless. He was found at the top of a mountain pass and was never claimed.

From the moment we met Ruskin we knew we had been brought a gem. This boy is so full of curiosity and wonder. He is very alert to all things around him and also chill enough to relax on the couch for some snuggles (as you can see in the video below). Ruskin enjoys a good game of fetch, although he is not the best at it. He often forgets he is supposed to return the ball, but he sure enjoys chasing it! Ruskin can sit, shake, takes treats gently and is house trained.

Meeting new people has been no problem for Ruskin. He has gotten along with all of our volunteers and staff. He is reactive to the other dogs, but meets them at the fence with a wagging tail. We have not had a chance for a play date as he is not a suitable playmate for our other current small and elderly residents. He would not be recommended for a home with small children or cats.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Ruskin is a suggested minimum of $95 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
