Ruger is a male Red Heeler/Beagle mix whose estimated date of birth is 11/22/2019. He weighs about 30 pounds and is ready to find his forever home. Ruger was surrendered to us when his family could no longer care for him.
Ruger came to us with two cherry eyes, which were removed during his neuter. He is feeling much better and has a new look on life! Ruger lives in foster care with 3 other dogs, multiple kitties, horses, chickens, goats, and children. He is very kind to everyone. The chickens do interest him a bit too much, so he shouldn't be trusted alone with them. A cat will need to be dog savvy for Ruger to live with as he is used to being able to play with the dog savvy kitties in his foster home. Being a puppy, Ruger still likes to chew. When first arriving at his foster home he chewed shoes and a few other items but once shown bones and different texture of toys were his for chewing, he no longer chews household items. He is very smart and easily redirected. Ruger's recall is not the best. Sometimes he will come back with ease, other times his nose gets the best of him. He will do best in a fenced yard or leashed with a family who can provide him with ample exercise. This boy really loves his people and life in general. He is a happy dog who keeps his foster family smiling. He will do just the same for his new and forever family.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Ruger is a suggested minimum of $95 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our transport expenses, that would be great!
