Turner is a loving and playful black German Shepherd mix boy, born about 8/1/19, who arrived as a stray and was never claimed. He currently weighs 52 pounds and has big ol' paws, so we anticipate he will be a large adult, possibly in the 80-90 pound range (or more).
This sweet boy enjoys the company of other dogs (and, as a BIG puppy, plays hard and fast). He adores all sorts of humans, and though he has not been cat-tested, he does not seem to be fixated on the cats in the Meow Manors and might learn to coexist with "HIS" kitty with enough patient training. He does show some indication of herding behavior, which is normal for a shepherd! He does have a prey drive, and was reported to have killed some rabbits on the property where he was found, but some of that could have been due to hunger. If you do have cats, we'd like you to have prior experience in training species to cohabitate and in redirecting prey drive in the home, just to be safe.
Turner is a happy dog who loves to run, and would really enjoy an active lifestyle. He is not yet fully housetrained, though is very smart and should pick up the basics pretty quickly once he is in a stable home where he can develop a routine. He is eager for attention and affection, and will be ridiculously grateful and devoted to whomever is lucky enough to offer him a forever home. If you're looking for a partner in life, a co-pilot, an agility dog, or a hiking companion, Turner says he is definitely the dog for you!
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Turner is a suggested minimum of $95 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
