Introducing Cassie, a beautiful Plott Hound X. Cassie's estimated date of birth is September 5, 2016 and she weighs in at about 40lbs.
Cassie was transferred in from another shelter. She was not transferred because she is not a great dog, but because Cassie can benefit from extra space and attention.
Cassie is an amazing jumper! She can jump pretty much any fence, including over a six foot barbed wire topped fence. Being a hound, she needs to track. She will track deer, squirrels and other vermin for miles.
When in the house and not fixated on all the things to track in the outside world, Cassie is rather calm and very sweet.
Cassie's ideal home would be one where she would be able to really get out her energy. Cassie LOVES to run. She would do well in a home with an active family who is strong enough to hold her on a leash. Cassie does lack good leash manners (though we are working on that with her). She gets along well with other dogs and children. We have recently been surprised to discover that Cassie is polite around cats - enough that we have been using her for dog-testing our resident felines. We still recommend supervision and training, given her typical hound nature and prey drive, but feel she could live in a home with cats with the proper attention to training.
Please consider letting Cassie join your family!
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Cassie is a suggested minimum of $95 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
