Ranger is 58 pound mixed breed who was born on 8-8-17. He came to us as an abandoned dog when his owner moved away and left his fate to that of a friend who did not want him and could not keep him. Eventually his owner was found and he was officially surrendered to our care. Ranger is a sweet natured dog with lots of puppy energy. He knows how to sit, lay down and stay. He enjoys riding in the car, has never shown any aggression towards other dogs at the shelter and seems to want to play with everyone. His owner mentioned that Ranger has some separation anxiety although we do not know the extent to which this occurs. We can say that at the shelter he is very comfortable with his surroundings and does not seem to exhibit any anxiety when placed in his kennel after play and yard time. He is good with kids, but is probably too energetic for small children such as toddlers. Ranger is still learning the ropes with his potty training, which was apparently neglected in his prior home, but he is super smart and picking it up quickly; a few good sessions with his new family should have him understanding the basics very fast. The ideal home for Ranger will be one with a fenced yard, and one where where his people have an active lifestyle so he can burn off some of that puppy energy. Another active friendly dog in the household will be fine as he really enjoys playing with other dogs. He has not yet been cat tested.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Ranger is suggested minimum $95 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
