12-year-old Sabrina began life as part of a feral colony. Now that she is a dignified senior lady, she has decided she would prefer the warmth and regular meals of a home of her own, and is hoping to find a calm and patient person with whom she can retire.
Sabrina has a little bit of traditional "tortitude" - her favorite movies and shows include Steel Magnolias, Driving Miss Daisy, and Alien (though she identifies far more with Ripley than with the ship cat, who Sabrina says really should have taken down that alien critter herself). She is shy with new people and timid in new situations, but warms up quickly. After years of hunting, she is pretty content lying around watching others do the work.
She asks that we find her a home where she will be allowed to settle in and blossom at her own pace, without too much frantic activity and, please, she says, no childrens' birthday parties. Balloons. Frosting. Screeching. Pin the Tail on the Kitty. No Thank You. BUT, if you have some cozy sun spots, would like a quiet and sedate roommate, and won't be jealous of her beauty, she promises to reward you one day with the biggest purrrrrrr and her undying devotion.
Sabrina asked us to point out that her coiffure has taken a bit of a beating since arriving at the shelter, as she needed several matted areas cut out... her coat will grow back to its original fluffy beauty in no time. She is tolerant of other cats, cautious around dogs but not aggressive toward them, and really just wants to be allowed the time to get to know you and find how your world and her world fit best together.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $20 (more gratefully accepted), or Senior for Senior (for adopters over 65 adopting a senior pet, adoption fee is optional). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
