Wiggins is a gray and white short haired boy who came to us as an owner surrender. The previous owner said he showed up as a timid thin stray whom she fed for over a month whenever he presented himself at her door. Finally he allowed her to pick him up and she surrendered him to the shelter as she was unable to keep him. We estimate his birthdate to be 11-7-06. Wiggins is adapting to shelter life and to the two girls he is rooming with in his Meow Manor. He is a bit shy but loves affection although does not seem to want to be held for long (see video). He does come around for ear scratches and loving though and we figure very soon he will plant himself in your lap for even more attention. He currently is not interested in playing (he is still a bit thin and gaining his strength back) but that may change as his confidence and nutrition improve. Because we know Wiggins has spent time outside and is capable of handling himself he will most likely be happiest as an indoor/outdoor cat although you never know. Once he finds a warm lap to snuggle in he may never want to leave the house! If you have room in your home and heart for this mellow, affectionate boy with the beautiful eyes, Wiggins is the one for you. He is good with respectful children and other cats, but has not yet been dog tested.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Wiggins is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
