Five-year-old Wacousta is a dark gray tabby who was found under a house in Republic. She was extremely emaciated when she arrived at the shelter and is a very nice cat considering her former living conditions. Initially she scared easily and spent most of her time hiding, but she has adjusted well and has come out of her shell. When you enter her room at the shelter, her purr goes into overdrive as she approaches you for attention. She initially didn’t care for dogs, although she has been seen nose to nose with the friendly ones who sniff her through the fence on her porch so she may be fine with friendly dogs. Wacousta gets along with other cats but might not be suited to homes with smaller children. She spends a lot of time on the porch of her Meow Manor and may be happier in a home where she can be an indoor/outdoor kitty.
Don’t let her appearance fool you. Her colors are unique and make her look a bit grumpy, but underneath is a very nice cat eager for a good home and lap to cuddle up in.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Wacousta is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
