I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing her at play with Audie.  She and Audie do this several times a day. As you can see she is moving much better. Hair wise she has a peach fuzz all over her back but it doesn't seem to be growing much.

She is a sweetie.

I took this today - should be attached.  I'll send another after her first trip to the groomer. The hair on her face is growing in nicely. It will probably need to be done in a couple of weeks.

She loves to be brushed so giving her a trim  (I evened up her hair all over) was very easy. Sometimes it's as though she hasn't had much physical attention....almost like she's surprised by it.

I wanted to give you a update on Kira. After a week or so she perked up. I think she was missing all of you at the shelter that had helped her. She's now a happy member of the pack. She has started playing with Audie and Henry. She can't play for long but the spirit is there. When I came home yesterday she was bouncing up and down like a pup. It was wonderful to see.

Medically, I've taken her to the vet for a general checkup. The vet wanted to double check for Cushings - it came back negative. Interestingly her hair is not only growing back on her rump but there appears to be growth on her upper back too. I'm not using any lotion on her skin and it is fine - absolutely no flaking or irritation.  My vet is wondering if there was a food allergy causing the hair loss. For the time being I'm going to keep her on the same food (Canidae lamb) as Henry and Audie and see if the growth continues. In the meantime she has a variety of summer shirts to wear and I've just finished a heavier weight for the fall.  She was restless one night and was definitely cold but fine once I covered her with a light blanket. I think I may be driving her a little nuts with always trying to cover her up. I guess her body acclimated to not having hair. The fistulas seem to only rarely cause her discomfort now and then with some coughing or sneezing.

As you said she is a very sweet dog. We were at the waiting room of the vet and she was eagerly wagging her tail at everyone hoping for a pet. It broke my heart... there was a room full of people and only one person gave her a pet - and wouldn't you know another Standard owner.  Everyone else kept their distance I guess thinking she would give them something. In any event, like you I gave her a kiss and told her she was beautiful and that they were all ignorant and rude.

I think I can safely say she is happy here and will be cared and loved by all of us.
