Kassy is doing amazing! She is such a sweet girl. Everybody that meets her wants to take her home. :)
Training has gone very well as she is so eager to please us. It was seriously almost effortless. She was house trained when we got her (THANK YOU FOSTER MOM), she is solid in her commands and is a champ at fetching a ball. We love hiking, camping, etc as a family and she loves it too. She loves running and exploring with us. You can definitely tell she is a herding dog - when we let her off the leash she literally runs around us and will jump around in front of the kids "talking" to them, basically telling them she doesn't think it is safe for them to go that direction. She really watches over our two boys - we joke that she is our babysitter. :) She isn't the biggest fan of the leash but she is getting better. We run and take her with us when we do shorter distances and we manage without tripping over her. :)
A few problems we had in the beginning was her overly submissivness. She was very intimidated by my husband (if you met him you would know he has a softer voice and is very gentle). She would pee every time he greeted her or tried to give her a conmand. She also is very anxious and new experiences and lots of people stress her out. We assume that is part nature and part sad beginnings before the shelter. We have been working with her and made sure she had a consistent routine, going slow in new environments, and some confidence building. She has had some dramatic improvement!
She is registered, current on all of her shots and is weighing close to 60lbs. ;) Little bigger than we thought but still small enough to snuggle us on the couch at night.
We have had her for over six months and EVERY single day my boys tell us how cute she is and how happy they are that she is part of the family.

Cassie is amazing!!! We kept the name but our 9 year old wanted to spell it: Kassy. :-) She fits in perfect!
I will give you more happy details in a few days.
