Just a short update. Blackie and Tanner are doing really well. They are outdoor cats now and are running off the ground squirrels, pack rats and mice!! A real dividend. They eat all the bugs and flies they can catch too. They adore Stogie and he likes them pretty well. Today in spite of his limited physical condition he was out watching them closely as they played in deep grass.

The kittens [now Blackie and Tanner, too awkward before] and I made it just fine in the trailer at the reunion. They now swarm over dog Stogie and he just yawns. They are just great. Their personalities are on full display now. Each unigue. I really love them. They're hysterical.

Tonight Tan [tan ears] eased up to Stogie and sniffed him and checked him out. Up to now they've been really leary of him. I talked to Stogie the whole time so he was paying attention to me, not the cat. Tan got no bad vibes and strolled off. We're all going to a family reunion this weekend in Twisp. All of us in my trailer. Should be a real experience for everyone. The trailer has a good screen door so keeping them in and safe should work. This is good!

The kittens are now named Black and Tan. Extra bit of fun since there was a night club in the International District in Seattle in the '50s called that. The kittens are really great. They are all over me and it won't be long until they're used to Stogie and go after him. Acclimated to everything including the cat boxes right away. They were quiet all night to my surprise. They ignored the bed I made for them. Oh well.

The kittens are home, I've deployed the food, water and litter boxes. They are exploring their new domain and I'm thrilled to watch them. They're cautiously checking out Stogie and he's completely oblivious. In the first hour home they covered every square inch of the house. They really are wonderful. They bring so much life to this quiet house. Now I need to figure out beds for them.
