2/11/13:

He's doing well. He's been re-named to "Mokey." Long story short, we couldn't agree on a name--husband like "Smokey," but I didn't. Audrey, our daughter couldn't say the "S" so she calls him "Mokey" and it stuck!

It was a little over-whelming after he warmed up--he is into EVERYTHING....my husband and I thought we had TWO toddlers! LOL He and Audrey work together to get into all kinds of trouble! But he's since calmed down (a little) and he's learning the "rules" around here--like not jumping onto the counters, eating plants, swinging from the blinds or sharpening his claws on the couches. :)

He's learned to use the scratching post quite well, plays fetch and has only had one episode of a random outside of the litter box poop, which he tried to "bury" on the tile mudroom floor. After that didn't work out well for him, he walked throughout the house with poopy little paw prints! THAT was a fun one to come home to. :) He doesn't really like to bury his poop but Nelly is very helpful and will go in & cover it up for him! LOL

Nelly tolerates him. She's kind of old and he really wants to play. She just is now "allowing" him to sit on my lap/legs at the same time as her. Him "playing" with her mostly consists of him slapping her in the face when she's asleep. She growls and swats at him and eventually he finds another target and runs off. He destroyed two houseplants by chewing & digging them up. I needed to re-pot them anyway, but now that they're dead I don't have to! LOL  Butters and he are just now starting to play together. The dogs could care less. I went and bought him a few toys. It's hard to find kitty toys that don't double as choking-hazards for an 18 month old. But I found a few, larger, stuffed toys and one on a fishing pole that work well....plus, we've taught Audrey how to run and drag one of the toys behind her--so they BOTH get tired out! LOL

I attached some photos...he loves to watch "BabyTv" with Audrey...lots of colors, animals, etc. :) He also is quite the snuggler.
