I don't know if you remember Lilli or not - but, she just weighed in at 75 pounds, so I thought I'd let you know that your guess was accurate. We continue loving each day with this sweet dog. Thank you for all that you do to help animals!3/20/13:
Just a little update to let you know how Lilli is doing.
When I picked her up it was a torrential downpour, so we didn't get the nice walk like I had intended. Once the paperwork was done and we visited briefly with two of my friends who surprised me by showing up to say congratulations - Lilli and I were off for our 2 hour drive home. She sat in the passenger seat peacefully the whole way.
When we got home, we went for a walk. During the walk, Scott took our resident dog (Eddie) out for a walk, as well. We met up and Lilli did beautifully. Eddie did some barking and growling, but Lilli stayed put and just watched him with amusement. They've been paling around ever since. Lilli tries to entice him into play-time, but he's either intimidated or no fun. I haven't figured out which. I have a feeling that they'll be fast friends. They've been up on the kids' beds together at various times with no issues.
I've allowed her to see my cats, but they haven't had free run of the house. Any tips on how to go about their further introduction would be appreciated. I have one cat who is very timid and hides from anything that moves quickly (so - he may never "meet" Lilli). The other one thinks she runs the house and has been very curious about Lilli.
Lilli has a wonderful temperament. She's loving and tries to learn. I am thankful to your volunteers who clearly put time and effort into teaching her to sit. We are still working on fetch, but that's a great thing to have to learn. We are working out the kinks in our schedules. She has spent the last two nights in her "den" with pillows and toys. Both nights we made sure to tire her out. She went to bed at 9pm and I woke her up at 6am. She has had several pooping accidents inside the house. We're working on that because it hasn't been for lack of opportunities to go outside. She's gone on numerous car rides/errands with us and does great in the car (both as a passenger and when left alone). All in all ~ this continues to be a wonderful experience for me and my family. Thank you so much for bringing such a kind spirit into our lives!
