Kayleigh, Ian and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year. I thank you every day for my two wonderful cats. I have attached our Christmas card.
Kayleigh is such a delight. I am so glad she is in my life. She has adapted very well to being both at my Mom's house in Republic and at my place in Asotin. Traveling is just fine with her as long as she can stretch out on the pad that my Mom made her.
Snuggling is her game with loud purrs thrown in for free. She speed sleeps for the first half-hour or so when we go to bed. She plops down and head bumps my shoulder, hand, or head and then within 30 seconds she's up and moving on to a new position. When she finally finds the right spot she is out for at least three hours. As you can see from the picture she also loves sleeping with her brother. A whirlwind of activity ensues when she is up and about. I need to invest in a tracking system to keep up with her.
I have water in three places. As you see in the picture, the one in my rec. room is a bit tall for her right now, but she will not be stopped by anything.
I am so glad my family convinced me to get two kittens. Ian has completely stolen my heart. When I took the two in for their shots the Vet asked which one was my favorite. I could honestly answer neither.
He is a real leaper with "we have lift off " echoing through the house. I no longer run the ceiling fan in my bedroom as he has made several giant leaps trying to catch that "flying" thing. He thinks the word no means maybe as he goes by the cat code that it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission. A cat that can be here and there at the same time aptly describes him.
When I am watching TV you can often find him crashing on the foot rest or the back of the couch. He also loves the cat tree as long as his sister is with him. Ian had been madly chasing a ball when my brother told me to look at him. He had stopped with the ball between his front paws and was slowly falling asleep. As you can see from the picture he ended up sound asleep on his ball.
A tumble of cats goes by my line of sight too many times a day to count. Ian's little stub of a tail helps me keep track of which one is on top at the moment. I it is so cute when that tail turns into a pompom when he is fuzzed up.
He was not happy traveling in the car. He cried all the way to Spokane. I called my Mom just out side of Spokane and she told Ian over the speaker that if he just put his head down and went to sleep it would be an easier trip. Five miles down the road he laid his head down and slept all the rest of the way to Asotin. I need to get one of those Mother voices!
