Things have been going great! As I sit here Cassidy is on my lap purring away giving me the occasional face rub that we all love to get from her, including the other pets. She has been such a blessing to the family and we couldn't be happier with our little love bug! Within the first few days she was immediate friends with every person and animal in the house barring Sadie who has taken some getting used to. Even with slow introductions they didn't want to look at each other for a while but as of today they will be in the same room together, lying next to one another and occasionally playing together. As things continue to keep progressing with their relationship we're hoping they'll be great friends in time!

Cassidy is developing into quite the character and has the sweetest disposition. Of course as a kitten she is extremely hyper and curious but she is also the biggest love sponge that I've ever seen in any of my prior pets. She will sit on a free lap for hours if she's able, purring even while not being pet; she's just content to be with the family and she loves to be up on shoulders as "her spot." She is quite the climber and jumper! The whole family gets a bunch of laughs as she is often seen bouncing and hopping down the hallway instead of running or walking. She is extremely smart and has learned fairly quickly about things that are no no's as well as anything new we introduce to her. Just yesterday we took her outside with a harness and leash and she was walking with my dogs, for the most part completely not bothered by anything that was on her. She is even hugely different during bath time. I gave her her second bath today and she didn't attempt to get away or cry she simply stood there until I was done and waited for me to get her with the towel. Even with all of her quick learning...the vacuum cleaner is still an evil dragon to be avoided at all costs! But that comes as no surprise.

She is also great with the children that I am around especially with how gentle she is even during play (she's learned to keep those claws in and a biting to a soft nip if that). The patience she displays with Sadie needing space and time, the children learning how to treat her, her daily routine getting the occasional change is amazing. She melts the hearts of everyone she meets, even my dad who has never been "into cats" and is a self declared "dog person" can't resist picking her up and getting the face rubs when she gives him that look with her cute "meow". Thanks for checking in and for giving us and so many others the gift of great new family members by doing the work you and the volunteers at the shelter do day in and day out! Attached are some pictures from the last few days. When she first came she had an affinity for a bell from a spare guinea pig toy so we put it on her collar in place of the usual bell to save her from having to carry it around giving her the nickname "cowbell Cassidy" with the kids.
