6/28/12:
Ripley is doing so well! We love her so much. She is growing fast - can't believe it. We love how much she loves to snuggle; her fur is SO soft. My daughter Chloe loves to sleep with her and my son Jax loves to play with her (although, he is 18 months old so sometimes his play is a little rough, but it's been a learning experience for him on how to be gentle - a word we use a lot when he is around Ripley). Ripley is a very patient kitty and even with the rough play from a toddler, she doesn't scratch or bite, just simply walks away (after we free her tail from his grasp). My goodness, it sounds like she gets tortured, but it's not quite that bad. Jax and Ripley also use the scratching post together. They act a lot alike in some ways; today Ripley was sitting in his high chair as if waiting for her meal. Ripley has made friends with the neighbor cat, Paul (odd cat name) and they sit on the deck together. She climbs to the top of a tree beside our deck and suns herself. We don't use a litter box anymore (bad combination with a toddler - again), but Ripley has had only one indoor accident and does a great job letting us know when she needs to go outside. I had 3 cats growing up and they were all indoor/outdoor cats as well.
I have attached some pictures. One is with Jax playing with Ripley using her stuffed octupus on a string toy - she's torn the stuffing out so that toy is no longer in service. Another is with Chloe holding Ripley on her first day home.
Thanks for checking in - she seems to be doing well and we just love her. She has become a natural family member and offers up a lot of entertainment.
We'll send some more photos along the way. Thanks for a great adoption experience!
