As you can probably tell from the attached pictures Mali has decided that we are worthy of her company and has decided to keep us.  She is really coming out of her shell and is just full of herself.  We took her on a trip with us last weekend and she was a good traveler.  Slept well in her crate in strange places and loved the socializing with our friends, relatives and their own dogs.  She was a hit with the residents in the lobby of the assisted living facility where my Mom lives.

We're still doing OK with Mali.  She has already decided that the crate is a good place for a nap on her own with the door open and put herself to bed last night when she was tired and saw us getting ready for bed ourselves.  It is pretty obvious to us however, that she was abused by a man in her past.  Sometimes when I bend down to give her a loving pat she'll flop to the floor and cower and little corrections about mouthing, etc. from my wife are no big deal.....but from me they seem to be almost traumatic.  So I'm trying hard to be extra special gentle.  I'm getting to be known as the "treat guy" now.

Mali has been taking it easy today and exploring the house and surrounding property.  What a lover she is.  Seems to be housetrained although we haven't seen a poop yet.  She has slept quite a bit but we think thats probably normal for her situation the last few weeks along with the surgery and shots.  With just half a day under our belts she seems to be doing OK.
