2/11/13:

Karhu is doing great, causing all kinds of trouble. It took her a couple of weeks for her to realize this is home and she's not going anywhere. She goes on hikes with one of us almost everyday sometimes twice a day. Yesterday we went up to a frozen waterfall and she was trying to climb the Ice at the base of the falls. She would slide down and try again. It was pretty hilarious! We kind of forgot how much fun a puppy could be! Dillion is getting along with her great. At first I think she was wondering how long she was going to have to put up with her, and at times gets frustrated with her and puts Karhu in her place. But we think Karhu is excellent for Dillion and keeps her very active something she wasn't doing after Ellie died. Well I have to run to work so this is short but in the next few days we will send some pictures. Take care and thank you for taking care of Karhu so well while she was with you!

12/30/12:

Good morning!  Wanted to let you know how little Karhu (formerly Natasha) is doing.  Her little attitude is very reminiscent of Elie, lol.  We are taken aback by her interest in people, she loves cuddles!  Very fun!!  Last night Dillon kept her space, but when we arrived at our friends' house, man did they play hard.  Only had one accident this morning after getting up and I think it was Jason's fault, he was getting her excited about going out and said "potty" a few times.   She is so well adjusted, it's going to be fun to train her without having to worry about rehabilitating her fresh, eager, optimistic, healthy mind.  I am sending you a picture of them this morning, I think Dillon loves her already!  Thank you for all the precious lives you have saved, you made our family complete, keep up the beautiful work you do there!

Karhu also got to stop at Wind River Bear Institute in MT, where she got to visit one of her brothers! Karhu is on the left:
