Adopted March 2011

12/28/13:

I adopted from your shelter about three years ago a dog named Bailey (4 years old - now Reese). You told me he was a total sweet heart and that it would just take time for him to warm up to me. I trusted what I was told and went ahead with the adoption before meeting him. I met you all in Seattle, and to be honest, I felt I made the wrong choice. He didn't seem happy with me or happy at all. But sure enough, just like you said, time went on and after sessions of trust he quickly grew. Today, he is more than my family, he is my best friend. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I get teary eyed right now thinking about my life if I had decided not to go through with it. He is absolutely amazing and perfect in every way. I just wanted to thank you and your staff for helping me realize that 2nd chances are worth giving. If it wasn't for you guys, I would have never met my best friend.Thank you for what you do and believing in 2nd chances.

Bailey (who is now Reese!) has been amazing! The first few days were rough. He had a hard time adjusting and realizing that this was his home now. But after that first week, we began to see more of his personality everyday! He has a little sassy side I have found and does a special happy feet dance when we come home. It is very cute. His head goes in circles and his paws go up and down!

After he started to get adjusted, I took him to the groomers (who absolutely loved him) and he came out looking like a whole new dog! The lady said he did great will getting a bath and just like you said, he loved being brushed! So all of the knots in his hair are out and he looks great!

He has been great with other dogs and has a few girlfriends... We went to our friends who also have a bernese mix and they instantly became best friends! they just chased eachother around, laid together, and just attached at the hips!

Reese hasnt really gotten the concept of "fetch" in fact he isnt too fond of any of his new toys! We caught him picking up one, then dropped it and ran! BUT whats nice is he is finally using his dog bed during the night and he knows that once the alarm goes off, he is allowed to jump on my bed. He definitely loves being in a home and I think he has grown to trust us knowing we will always come home to him.

We took him to our vet just for a check up and they said everything looked great and was very healthy! Reese loved standing on the weight machine and wanted to chase the vet pig... but everyone loved him and we love him very much. This has been a great experience and I am very happy to have Reese part of our family! Like I said, everyday we learn more and more about him and he is a great dog. Thank you so much for helping us through this and introducing us to Reese!
