Adopted March 2011
2/13/12:
We promised an update on Nelson Munroe (aka Snowflake March adoption) and finally have had some time to do so. We’ve attached a new family pic, which we will be sending out this holiday season.
Where to begin … Nelson is a real, spit fire and is so full of energy that if we could harness just a bit of it we’d all be rich! To help him keep the energy under control, he and I have started agility classes. After 8 classes he is almost ready to run the full course off leash. This in itself is amazing, as he is the youngest dog in class with the bulk being 8 years of age or older! He loves the classes and being with the other dogs and has learned to be more in tune with me, his handler. I just hope I can keep up with him as he develops even further in his classes! The agility pic is of one of his first classes. He now sails through the jumps, walk it, A-frame and tunnel with no problem at all and literally can’t wait until his next turn.
Nelson loves camping and has travelled to many new spots in Southern B.C. with us. He has little or no fear, and has surprised us at just how much he likes water. Take a peek at the balancing act of him and his boy at the October campout!
We love this little boy and will be celebrating his first birthday in a few weeks! We look forward to the winter, and his first experience with snow. The first so far have been so special and so much fun! Thank you for allowing him into our life!

Snowflake was renamed - his new name is Nelson Monroe. He loves his name and comes when called. We gave him the middle name after where we picked him up from, as it seems to us the two fit. He is a lovely ball of energy who keeps us on our toes all the time. He and Brenden have bonded and they are great buds which is extremely nice with Jakes passing. Nelson loves jumping on Brenden's bed in the mornings to wake him up for school! We couldn't be happier with this pup! Hope all the other future adopters get such lovely pups/dogs!

Just an update on little Snowflake. He had his vet check with our vet and came through with flying colours! He was very calm and accomodating and really impressed everyone at the office.
Snowflake is an absolute fabulous traveller! We had had no issues either coming home from Monroe or travelling locally. He is a little spit fire in the house and has given us much joy over the past few days. We will be renaming him but are having a very hard time coming up with a new suitable name. Our choices to date either don't fit his personality or we or he are not thrilled with others. Hopefully we can brand him soon or he'll get a complex for being just 'puppy'! Take care and we wish you all luck with your shelter work!
