Greetings everyone,
as promised here's a video of Kikas and her new tricks :) (NOTE: To see Kikas in the video, visit Forget Me Not Animal Shelter's Facebook page and find the post from 7/13/11).

We have been training her in Portuguese, except for "high-five", but you can't hear very well on the video... sorry :( the cage in the background is our guinea pig's "summer house" ;)

BTW, we took her to her first vet visit yesterday and everything is fine; Kikas is a big, healthy, happy pup :) She had her rabies shot and we put an anti-parasite topical solution on her too. However, the vet said that according to Kikas' teeth, she is, at least, 5 months old and not 3 as we thought (is Kikas' DOB for sure or is it an estimate according to her previous owners?). (NOTE: The original owners were sure DOB was end of March 2011, but who knows....)

Kikas should be visiting the off-leash park for the first time very soon :) There's a really cool one near our house.

Greetings to everyone from the FMN Animal Shelter :)
I just wanted to write here a brief update on Kikas (Beatrice).
She is such an wonderful dog and she learns so quickly. During this short period with us she became crate-trained and almost housebroken, there is no accidents and the only issue is her trying to climb on the sofas. She already knows "come", "sit" and "high-five". We didn't inted to teach her "high-five" but she uses her paws so much that we decided to make something funny of it :) We have started to work on "down" and "stay".
Kikas loves her treats and to have someone around most of the time. She still dislikes to be near cars that are passing by, mostly buses...
Sorry, but we don't have new pictures because we have been so busy enjoying the real thing :P
Thank you so much for this wonderful gift ♥

The trip back was great but I think she was uncomfortable because it was too hot. She is really good with potty and she holds it longer than I ever imagined. She did have a couple accidents that it was not her fault (at least it didn't happen on the carpet). Her name doesn't mean anything, just sounds funny... and we say "Kikas, the kick ass dog". She is complimented so many times every time we take her out... I feel like we're being harassed xD
