Adopted June 2010
6/10/10:
Just wanted to give you a heads up and say that everything is fine with the 'new kids on the block' !
Sheba is actually starting to accept them a whole lot faster than either one of us would have expected, a good thing. Georgieporgy has already accepted them and is very curious about them, following them around.
At night though, Bacchus and Athena have the catty bedroom downstairs and then in late morning they can come up stairs with the other two so I can watch. A lot of the time they like to just go back downstairs and run around and play 'hide and seek'. They sure seem to like to do that. They have food available 24/7 and plenty of clean water.
I took Bacchus to a window and let him see one of the white peafowl walking around down at the grouse area and he was shocked! He acted almost kind of scared like he didn't know what it was! But he was very intrigued never the less. He likes to lay around and nap on the new cat tree which he and Athena have kind of claimed, but Athena is a ball of energy galloping around and exploring and playing with things.
We will experiment with them on trying on the cat harnesses and putting on the leashes just inside so maybe some day they can come out with us in the yard. We actually take the other two places with us but we will wait numerous months to do that with Bacchus and Athena til they are ready.
Bacchus is more like our other two, likes to nap most of the time in a comfy spot and Athena is so funny with so much energy running around like a wild horse up and down the stairs and all around! It's such a joy to watch them run around and play and just explore.
They're both very unique and very cool catty-kids. Thanks very much for allowing us the opportunity to adopt them. They are a great addition to our family. We'll keep you informed in the future also.
