Adopted December 2007: Seattle
6/17/08: "Juneau's doing GREAT! She really is the perfect addition to the family. She still has a lot of puppy energy and picks on Hoss tons- sometimes he's grumpy and just wants to sleep, but other times they play for hours. I'm sure she's keeping him young."

I just wanted to send you some current photos of 6 month old Juneau! She's been amazing- very smart, very loving. Her favorite past times are picking on Hoss, finding 'treasures' (whatever she can dig up from the backyard), rolling over so you can pet her belly, and our walks to the local coffee shop where she gets ooooh and aaaaaahed over and given a treat from the barista. We enrolled her (and us) in a training class... so far our at-home work has been good enough to get her into the 'intermediate' class (way to go Juneau)! She's one of the best 'students' in the class. Our biggest focus right now is getting her to 'heel', as she does quite enjoy a good yank on the leash from time to time... perhaps some husky blood coming through. She's already improved tons as we've worked on this and she'll have it down in no time.
I hope Jasmine/Isabel and her other puppies are doing well. Best of luck with everything at the shelter.

"Just wanted to let you know that Juneau (formerly Thelma) is getting along quite well here in Seattle. She LOVES her big brother, Hoss, and is also quite fond of her cousins, Honey and Bella. She holds her own with the big dogs- when she's bigger than them, they'd better watch out! We have an appt with our vet today and will check out some swelling where she had surgery... it looks like it might be infected, so hopefully we'll get that cleared up. The house training is going very well- she often sits by the door now to let us know she needs out. I just thought you might like to hear that she's enjoying her new home- and that you might like to see a photo. I attached a photo of Juneau with her cousins, Bella and Honey, and our brother-in-law Ben. This was on the way back from Republic on a hike we stopped to enjoy. (Juneau definitely loves the snow.)"
