Adopted July 2007

1/19/15:

They have been playing more and more, though it tends to be rough and tumble, stalking type play.  When they are both within reach, I pet both.  Mirabelle seems to enjoy annoying Traitor by getting into her personal space with Traitor usually responding by leaving and going to another spot.  Anyhow, I was watching the game in that chair and Traitor was there on the back of that chair.  Mirabelle jumped up and Traitor immediately hissed and stiffened up and I reached behind me and petted her, and not Mirabelle.  Traitor settled down, deciding to not give up her turf and Mirabelle layed down rump to rump. They were like that for a good half hour until I started hooping and hollering at the end of the 4th quarter and on into overtime...

Attached is a recent picture, one from when they were good buddies, and also a picture of Traitor in her usual sleep position.

Oh, Chewy and Smudge (we call him Pudge or Fat Cat) are doing great.  Chewy is sporting his very impressive super thick and soft winter coat! He does like to come inside to use the scratching post and get a catnip fix.  Smudge really doesn't like to be inside but doesn't venture far from the barn.

12/31/13:

Chewy and Pudge and barn resident, Grey, are all doing great. Chewy insists on putting footprints on any newly washed vehicle, as well as footprints on newly poured concrete or freshly painted surfaces. Mirabelle and Traitor have come to tolerate one another again.

Catarina and Mirabelle are best of buddies. Catarina has been renamed "Traitor" in good humor. She loves everybody so much that has no loyalty to anybody's lap as tries to find the person who will give her the most attention. Our 14 foot Christmas tree is decorated with ribbon, lights and non-glass ornaments this year. The girls haven't tried climbing it and are leaving the ornaments alone. However, the Ficus Tree is fair game for climbing, but not nearly stout enough to withstand big kittens. They are comical and loving and were obviously fostered by a caring family prior to us adopting them. Thanks for the work all of you do there.
