Klondike was adopted 9/07 and Piccolo was adopted 6/07, by a family in Bonney Lake (one kitten - Piccolo - proved to be too much for the older cat in the home, so Klondike was added to the mix with great results)

"Everything is going extremely well here at the homefront since Friday. You were absolutely correct that the kittens will pummel each other and Misha now has time to herself to relax. Things couldn't be any better. Piccolo and Klondike love to play with each other so much that they wear themselves out. They also love laying by the fire, playing with their toys, getting treats and eating constantly, and just about everything else. I will have to send a picture later to show you how much Piccolo has already grown and eventually Klondike as well. Thank you so much for everything! It has definitely made the death of Emmitt easier to handle."

8/23/07: " Piccolo seems to be getting better with Misha but he still torments her all the time. I am thinking that it would be best to get another kitten closer to his age for him to play with but my husband thinks that we would then have two kittens ganging up on Misha. Do you think that there would be any difference if we got another female over another male? I believe most of the problem is that he is dominant and our female has become very docile since Emmitt's death. Not sure what to think regarding the right thing to do. Any suggestions." (PART OF OUR RESPONSE: Put simply, kittens need to play and they will turn to any other cat they can... if there is one close to their age, that is great, but if not, they will play with an older cat... whether the older cat wants to play or not, LOL. I think if you add a second kitten - either from here or from any other shelter or rescue - you will see a positive change in the family dynamics. Provide Misha with a comfy spot where she can rest and avoid the play sessions, and let the two kittens enjoy pummelling each other as kittens love to do.)

7/24/07: "Piccolo is doing really good and full of energy but needs someone close to his age to play with and spend his time. Our adult cat isn't that interested in playing with him." (NOTE: This is common between little kittens and older cats - we recommended adding a second young kitten).
