New adoptable dog: PETER

Peter2

Peter

Peter is a fun and frisky almost-5-month-old border collie/Australian cattle dog mix boy. His owner received him as a gift, but he is too energetic for her (note to anyone considering giving puppies as gifts to elderly relatives – it is a bad idea). He doesn’t seem to be at all shy, and has met lots of dogs and different people. His owner reports that he is “partially” housetrained; we find many of the juvenile pups start to naturally housetrain while at the shelter, because they don’t want to . . . → Read More: New adoptable dog: PETER

New adoptable dog: Dora (ADOPTED 3/25)

Dora is a sweet and affectionate border collie mix girl, who was born about 3/1/10 (so she’s just over a year old now). Dora appears to be totally housetrained – she hasn’t gone potty in her kennel at all, even for the occasional 12-hour “overnight” times when she can’t go out for a potty break. She is timid around new people and new sounds, but warms up very quickly once she knows what to expect.

Her fur is a beautiful black with chocolate brown overtones (particularly . . . → Read More: New adoptable dog: Dora (ADOPTED 3/25)

(Click photo for larger version)

Clockwise from upper left: Brannagh, Enya, Rhianna, Fianna

Fianna, Brannagh, Enya, and Rhianna are Border Collie/Irish Setter/Unknown “leMutte” pups, born 7/27/10, who came to us as a “Stop the Cycle” litter (we spayed the mother dog at our expense, and took the litter to find them great new homes).

We expect these fuzzy gals to be pretty energetic, and probably between 40# – 55# when full-grown, though it is impossible to guarantee adult size of “leMutte” pups! They are happy, friendly girls who were kept with their momma dog until weaned; they will now stay together until we find their forever homes, and are doing all the right “puppy play” things to help them become well-socialized family pets. They are currently in a foster home together.

These pups will be ready to . . . → Read More: New adoptable dogs: Fianna, Brannagh, Enya, and Rhianna the Border Collie/Irish Setter leMuttes
