Poppy, born 5-23-12, is a 70 pound hound mix that was transferred in from a high kill shelter where she had showed up as a stray that no one claimed. Initially she was shy and a bit fearful (that may be her typical response to new things), but since her arrival she has blossomed into a happy, curious, friendly and playful girl. She knows how to sit, is great with kids, has never shown any aggression towards humans or other dogs, is good in the car, on a leash, but not with cats. Yes, the hound in Poppy says no cats, they are prey, ha! The ideal home for Poppy is with a family or a person with an active lifestyle who likes to take her with them wherever they go and will share their home with her. Since Poppy is a hound and tends to follow her nose, a fenced yard will be important to keep her from roaming. If this sounds like your dream dog then Poppy says take me I’m ready! Poppy will be available for adoption after July 1, 2018.
