Charlotte came to us as a stray that no one claimed. We are estimating her birthdate at 5-1-2017, so she is still a pup at heart. She is a "LeMutte" pup – all sorts of possible breeds in her mix, maybe some Heeler, Aussie, Border Collie mix, perhaps some Kelpie and some Labrador and some Really Cute Black Dog – but her ingredients label must have fallen off, so all we can do is guess.
All the volunteers love Charlotte because she is sweet, responsive, and smart. She is really looking forward to finding her forever person so she can shower them with affection and share her happy world with them.
Charlotte enjoys fetch and toys, can be sometimes seen blowing bubbles in her water bowl, and loves to romp with other dogs at the shelter, especially another pup around her age. She seems to be indifferent to cats in that she ignores them when playing in our "cat yard" where our cats can be seen watching her antics from their porches.
She does know some commands, like sit, and is OK on a leash. She occasionally will jump up but easily accepts the correction. She is mostly house trained, though will occasionally have an accident in her kennel if we go a little bit too long between breaks. Additional training will make her the best companion a person could ask for. Because she is so young she is very energetic and would do well in an active household. We anticipate she will weigh no more than 50 lbs when fully grown (although we have no way of knowing for sure!). She is quick and agile and just plain fun to be around. Check out those amazingly expressive bat-like ears!
Charlotte comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!)
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
