Trixie is a delightful girl who just squeaks into the senior category, though you wouldn't know it from her behavior. She is about 8 years old, and is a heeler-beagle mix, around 40 pounds, with lots of energy and joy! She is reported to be good with other dogs, children, and cats, and is both playful and affectionate. Her only current medical issue is that she has been experiencing some urine leakage while sleeping. Our senior dog vet has started her on Proin, which will hopefully help more than the DES she had been taking in her former home (DES was somewhat ineffective for her).
Trixie enjoys car rides, but tends to try to "chase" other cars she sees through the windows, so should probably ride crated for safety. The beagle in her leads her to run off following an interesting scent, so she will do best with a fenced yard, and leash walks out in the wild. She has a sweet and trusting personality, and would love to find a fabulous forever home that will be hers for the rest of her years. She'd love to go for walks with you (or even gentle jogs), as much as she would love snuggling with you on long, dark winter nights. She's about a 1/3 couch sort of girl, though loves to stretch herself out a little more for extra cuddles!
Trixie comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $50, or SENIOR for SENIOR - adopters over 65 may name their own adoption fee); more gratefully accepted!)
