Introducing the Tree Pups - these cuties, along with mama Ruby, arrived as owner surrenders. The pups, born 1/20/17, are very social and affectionate, enjoying treats and toys and snuggles. Ruby is a collie-doberman-some other stuff mix, so we know all the pups have collie and doberman in their mix... plus some other mystery ingredients, giving them a true LeMutte unique breed mix.
Cedar is a fuzzy black and white boy with a hint of brown here and there... he weighed in at 13.2 pounds at intake, when the pups were exactly 8 weeks old.
We are guessing these pups will be between 45# - 60# when full grown, though mixed breeds don't always end up the same size as their parents (genetics is a fascinating thing).
These pups should adapt to homes with other pets, and should be great with children. Their mom is good with other dogs, cats, poultry, and was a working cow dog on a farm; with training, the puppies should also get along well with varying species. They are scheduled for spay/neuter on 4/6/17, and will be ready to go home on 4/8.
Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. These pups hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter (this litter will have had at least 2 rounds of vaccinations prior to adoption, with their third scheduled for 4/28); they will then need rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age.
Here's a short video of this litter from 3/24/16:
Cedar comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period. We will be closing the first round of applications for these pups no later than 4/1/17, and will then work with approved adopters to assign pups based on individual "pupsonalities" that will be developing during their time in the shelter's care.
Spay/neuter, deworming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $125; more gratefully accepted!)
