Jenny and Amber are a pair of senior poodles who transferred in to our Sammi Fund for Seniors program. Jenny, the black poodle, will turn 11 this coming August, and at 12 pounds, she is a bit larger than Amber.
They came in listed as a bonded pair, but after working with them for a couple of months, we have found that Jenny tends to bully Amber quite a bit. They can go to the same home, but we think Amber, in particular, will blossom more if she is away from Jenny and her bossiness. If they do go to the same home, it should be a home with people who are comfortable monitoring and mediating relationships between dogs, where Amber can get some solid one-on-one time without being in Jenny's shadow.
Jenny is playful and energetic, in good health, and has had a recent dental cleaning with a few extractions. She is not currently taking any medications. Jenny is an alpha dog, slow to warm up to new people but affectionate once she has decided you're her friend. She is likely to chase a kitty if it runs, and we don't recommend Jenny for homes with toddlers. She will be happy with a couple of brisk walks and/or interactive play sessions each day. She likes to sit on your lap or snuggle on the couch, but is more active than Amber so will need some exercise with her new people.
Jenny comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $50, or SENIOR for SENIOR - adopters over 65 may name their own adoption fee); more gratefully accepted!)
