MOTHER (black/brown) & FATHER: (white/black):
Bagheera and siblings - the "Jungle Book" litter - are Border Collie/Shepherd/Lab/Unknown "leMutte" pups, born 9/24/10, who came to us as a "Stop the Cycle" litter (we spayed the mother dog at our expense, and took the litter to find them great new homes). Bagheera is a super cute and small shorthaired girl who is almost all black, with a little white on her chest - she is the "runt" and should be the smallest as an adult.
The pups arrived at the shelter on 11/8, and unfortunately had ringworm (a fungal skin condition similar to athlete's foot) when they arrived. We are treating them with internal medication (griseofulvin) and topical antifungal medication; their treatment should be completed by 12/10. For more information on ringworm, see the blog post. We have include a photo or two of some of the pups' ringworm spots as of 11/24; they are already clearing up and beginning to regrow fur on the spots.
We expect these pups to be pretty energetic, and probably between 50# - 65# when full-grown, though it is impossible to guarantee adult size of "leMutte" pups! They are happy, friendly pups who lived with cats until weaned, and are now receiving lots and lots of handling and attention from all sorts of humans every day.
These pups will be ready to go in time for our 12/18 delivery of adopted pets in North Bend; they will probably still be regrowing hair in some spots, but will have finished their treatment schedule.
Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever owners with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter; most will require additional boosters in the first couple of months after arriving in their new homes, and rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age.

Spay/neuter, worming, and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption donation (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners.
