Angel 0558

BEFORE:

Angel is a female German Shepherd mix, approx. 2 years old and 65 lbs., who was rescued from severe neglect. She is currently in an experienced, loving foster home in Woodinville, WA. This is an extremely intelligent, sensitive, and sweet dog. She is very shy with strangers. She is doing beautifully in her foster home, learning to trust people and about being part of a family. Angel is gentle, easy to handle, has calm energy in general, and walks politely on leash. Angel is still a young dog so she does need brisk exercise at least a couple of times a day.

Angel’s ideal home is a peaceful household with one or two adults (older kids OK), one of whom works at home or is retired so they can be with her most of the time. Angel would not do well being alone in the house (or yard) for long periods. A good sized fenced yard in a peaceful environment would be a big bonus for Angel—she loves to spend time in the yard just hanging out, being a “nature girl.”

Angel would be very happy as the only dog, but doesn’t have to be. If placed in a home with another canine, it should be a “happy-go-lucky” type, preferably male, who would neither challenge nor bully her (we do not recommend an Alpha female). Angel is learning very quickly about the pack structure in her foster home and is really settling in and feeling more comfortable. She gets along with her foster brother, a large gentle, 7-yr. old male. As long as her introduction and integration into the family is smartly done by a strong pack leader, she should do just fine with other dogs.

Angel is crate trained--she likes her crate and settles right down. She appears to be housetrained, she only had one accident in 3 weeks in her foster home. However she will need to be monitored in her new home during the first few weeks before assuming she has completely “got it” about where to go.

No cats, small furries, or children under 5 in Angel's new home, please.

Angel’s human will need to be knowledgeable about dog behavior and have the patience, time, and love to let her come out at her own pace. Angel’s foster mom says…

”Angel is one of the most beautiful, sensitive, deep, and intelligent dogs I have ever met. A beautiful spirit who got a crappy deal in the beginning of her life yet has survived. She is truly a diamond in the rough who will be loyal her whole life to the her special, and very lucky, human.”

We will place Angel with a 30-day trial period, to give you time to work with her and for you to learn to communicate with each other.
