Introducing Lanny and Gracie, born 07/28/17. These two sisters are friendly kittens from a feral colony on which we are currently doing TNR (trap/neuter/release). Both kittens came to us with terrible eye infections that have now been treated successfully. They have been spayed and are ready to go to indoor-only homes. Both have been well socialized by the volunteers and will make wonderful family members.
Lanny, the first kitten to be caught, had better nutrition for a longer period of time so she is a little bigger than Gracie. Due to the severity of Lanny's infection, both of her eyes were damaged beyond repair and had to be removed, leaving her completely blind. The eye area has healed nicely and she doesn't seem to notice that she is any different than Gracie. She purrs as soon as she is picked up and she loves to play.
Gracie was caught a few weeks after Lanny, so she is a little smaller since she didn't get started on food as soon. Gracie's left eye was repaired so it tracks with the right eye, but she has no vision in it. Her right eye looks a little different than regular kitten eyes, but she can see fairly well with it; she is considered vision impaired, rather than blind. Gracie is friendly and also loves to play but doesn’t care to be picked up.
Lanny uses Gracie as her "seeing eye cat" and the two are a bonded pair so they would love to find a home together.

All kittens arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and with all age-appropriate vaccinations; most will need one or two booster vaccinations after arrival, and rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age. Adoption fee for Lanny and Gracie is suggested minimum $110 after the pair adoption discount (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
