Return to the Cats & Kittens page
Lamont and his brother Lyman arrived at the shelter as strays, after being found in a very remote area. They started off so shy we didn't know when (or if) we'd be able to coax them out of their hiding places... but the fabulous team of shelter volunteers went to work and convinced these boys that humans are the source of all things wonderful in their world, and now they are fun, playful, affectionate kitties. They may still be shy around strangers, but once they get to know you, your personal space belongs to them!
They are about a year old, and can be a little challenging to tell apart until you get to know them! See if you can spot the differences in their photos (this page is all Lamont, and Lyman's page is here), and then try to pick each one out in the video below. They do love each other, and also their other Room 1 cat friends, but do not need to be adopted together. These boys should do well in pretty much any sort of home, except one that hosts toddler parties every day or has an endless rotation of strangers coming for their AirBNB experiences. They are good with other cats and should adapt to a cat-friendly dog fairly quickly.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Lamont is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
