6/6/15:

I thought you might enjoy this photo of Daphne.

We are all doing well. We think Daphne is, indeed, part terrier but we are thinking maybe rat terrier. She looks like a miniature cattle dog, but she definitely acts more like a terrier. She LOVES to chase her ball (and the squirrels).  She's quite athletic and can jump up pretty high in the air and catch it. It's pretty fun!

She's very well behaved. She rarely barks. If you tell her "uh uh," she immediately stops what she's doing. She can now pee on command. LOL. Still working on recall, but it's getting better.

We absolutely love her, as does everyone who meets her. We took her over to my sister's last weekend, where Ginger (my sister's dog) lives. Someone else brought their bulldog. They all did fine together. She also loved the small kids who were running around.

We are all enjoying the newly fenced front yard. There is a lot more room for the dogs to run.

I thought you'd appreciate this pic. Daphne in the Forget me nots!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

We're doing well here.

5/12/15:

Daphne and Ginger are doing well. Daphne is totally submissive to her and acknowledges that "Ginger is boss." She wants to be buddies really badly with her, but we'll take it one step at a time. The biggest challenge I can see is with my sister, as Ginger is her dog and very possessive. We'll work on that, though, gradually. They pretty much ignore each other most of the time Ginger is here.

Daphne LOVES tennis balls! We've never had a "ball" dog. Historically, we've had huskies who would just look at us like, "Go get it yourself." We play ball in the morning and eves when Gingie isn't here (to avoid tussles over toys). She also loves squirrels. That is something she and Ginger have in common.

She also loves to "spoon." She sleeps with us on the bed every night.

We're totally in love with her. She's a wonderful little dog. I'm now calling her my "mini moo," as she looks just like a tiny cattle dog to me. She's not really tiny, but she's tiny to us as we are used to 65 lb pooches.

I just ordered her a custom collar and lead with cows on it. I am definitely more excited about it than she will be, especially since I was able to track down discontinued fabric to make it.

Our fence project continues to move forward. Bryan is busy trimming all the hedges in the front  so a fence can go up against them. Work for the front portion is scheduled for Monday, wrapping up end of week. Then, we'll have to replace the back portion (but that's more intensive as it's a custom cedar fence). Hopefully, that will start once work wraps up on the front. Coordinating everything has been fun as I have two different builders involved.

5/9/15:

Missy is such a sweet little thing. She ran over to Bryan right away and jumped in his lap.

She just at a late dinner, drank some water, and went outside and went potty. We are settled in for the night. She's between us on the bed :)

We are leaning toward renaming her Daphne, after the sweet white flower, so have now started to call her by that name. We'll see how it fits :)

Thanks again for placing her with us.  We are already hooked Emoji

Will update you again in a few days after we see how she does with Ginger. I just wanted to let you know we made it home okay and are settled in.

Have a good weekend,
Shelley
