7/29/14:

Thanks for checking up on us and (yes it is) Murphy! We are all doing really well. We have been pleasantly surprised at how well he has integrated into our large animal family. No questions have came up yet.

Although we have figured out a few things along our journey so far :) He is a BIG eater.Which makes sense since he is nearly 13lbs. I had been giving him the same food amount as our two older, 6lb female kitties and he always seemed hungry. Well, after reading the cat food bag properly I realized I hadn't been feeding him quite enough. We've since changed over to a slightly larger portion size and he seems much happier. We have also found out that playing with him before bed time in the evening is a must. Unless we want to be awoken in the middle of the night with him flying/running across the bed in a full on crazy kitty tear. I've gotten a nice little collection of toys for him and he seems to enjoy them all :) So we have nightly play sessions right before bed and that helps him sleep mostly throughout the night. He is also very interested in the chickens we keep in the back yard. We've let him outside in the backyard once, while on a leash, to check them out. And now every time they are out in the yard he is up at the window "talking" to them. It's very adorable! He is also awesome about not trying to run out the front or back door when they are opened, which we really appreciate. But his favorite pastime is to play with dripping water from the faucet. He will sit next to the sink and wait for you to turn the water on to a drip. Then he will proceed to bat at / bite / lick / drink the dripping water. We have yet to take a video of him doing it, but I plan on doing that soon to post on FaceBook. In addition he has became fast friends with our two chihuahuas Grace and Mojito. I'll frequently find them racing through the house with either him chasing them or them chasing him. His favorite game is to hide until they come close then jump out at them from behind, above or beneath something and then the game is on! Overall we truly couldn't be happier with our choice in Murphy. He is not only beautiful outside but inside as well. He will forever be our little companion.

I also wanted to give my gratitude at the ease and availability of being able to come to the shelter to check out the dogs and cats even when the office isn't open. The set up with the kitty cabins is bar none the best we have ever seen. I don't even know how many times we have been out to just say hi to the kitties as we were passing by. And I don't know if we would have gotten another cat if it hadn't been for the ease of being able to come and see them whenever we were there. So kudos to you guys for the awesome set up! Additionally Tiffany has been an exceptional ambassador and advocate for the great animals you have at the shelter. Her super friendly attitude definitely made the adoption process fun. I know she was sad to see him go when we took him home but he is happy and thriving! From beginning to end all of our interactions with the Forget-Me-Not Shelter have been completely above and beyond expectation. We both wanted you to know how much we appreciate what you do on a daily basis for the animals you take in. And know that at least one cat has found his forever home with us because of you guys.
