10/20/14:

The kittens are doing really well. We renamed them Bella Boo (a.k.a. Bella) and Barnard la Chat (a.k.a. Barney). Bella is definitley the more rambunctious one and Barney is such a little love bug. He instantly starts purring when we pick him up. Hector adores them! He plays with them a lot and helps me with their food and litter box clean up. I'm so proud that he's taking on some of the responsiblilty of caring for them. He's also learning about the different moods of cats - when they want to play, when they want to love on you and when they just want to be left alone. :-)
The kitties have full run of the house now and have picked their favorite spots to nap. Each night, after we put Hector to bed, my husband and I relax in our bedroom and watch TV and the kitties join us. They're getting noticably bigger and their stick-up kitten fuzz is already starting to lay flat and they're both so soft. We're loving them!

The only concern I have, and it's a small one, is that Barney is still a suckler. I catch him trying to suckle Bella a lot, especially at night. And the other night, when I was trying to stop him, he wound up suckling his own paw. Poor baby! Is there anything I should do to try and "wean" him off of this or should I just let him go and hope that he grows out of it?
