6/21/12:

Tam has settled in extremely well and has exhibited none of ‘bad’ behaviors that were attributed to him by his other adoptive family.  He is a very easy and laid back Aussie & is content with a 2 mi walk in the morning and a couple of shorter ½ mi walks during the day.  Tells us when he needs to go outside.  Likes to know where people are in the house – often makes the ‘rounds’ to check out where everyone is but picks a spot & relaxes.

He is still shy around strangers but is willing to give them a chance if they don’t rush him.  He’s very obedient, has been great with our very geriatric cat and can be trusted to not to wander away from home – although does go on ‘pee parties’ w/ the dog a couple of doors down.  His flakey skin has cleared up entirely and his coat is growing in well and is getting softer.  He does vocalize some, groans for attention, whines when he doesn’t want to do something.  He’s good about being handled, likes to be toweled off after walks in the rain.  Will come and sit / lean on our knees when he wants petting.

We are very happy with him (although my husband still can't get him to chase a Frisbee).

6/15/12: NOTE: Tamarack's original adopters had some problems with him, so he ended up at a new Shelton area rescue, O For Paws Sake. His current owners found him there and got in touch with us! They say:

"Tam is a great dog and we’re all very pleased to have him as part of our family.  He’s smart, fun to be around and wants to please.  Although shy to start, he’s already bonded to us and our kids and is popular with our neighbors because of his sweet disposition.  Thanks to all the volunteers at Forget-Me-Not for your work and kindness in matching the 4 legged critters to the 2 legged ones!"

We're so pleased Tamarack has found his happy ending, and are delighted to welcome his new owners into our family of adopters.
